Shaping up!

We have been learning about the properties of regular and irregular 2D shapes this week. We know why they are 2D, the names of the shapes and can even sort them using different criteria using Venn and Carroll Diagrams. We then visualised the shapes and used peg-boards and isometric paper to draw them.

Year 2 have been doing gymnastics as you can see.  The positions they have learned so far are Pike, Tuck, Dish and Arch. They are now using those four moves together to create short  routines. Pupils who attended the Gymnastics Club after school have displayed greater flexibility including the ‘splits.
