Class Assembly

November 29, 2014

Well done to Year 5 for their class assembly. They worked really hard to put together a good show. We had a Spanish and music theme throughout. I was really proud of Kadir for devising his own lines and playing a solo on his glockenspiel. Thank you to the parents who came and supported us.

Hoop-hoop hooray!

November 28, 2014

Whisper it quietly… …but we think Year 3 have caught the festive bug already and there’s still two days to go before the start of Advent. Maybe it’s the shortening of the days, maybe it’s the onset of those dry, cold winter nights, maybe it’s the fact Year 3 have been singing Christmas Show songs for […]

Sikhism in Year 3

November 27, 2014

We have been learning all about Sikhism in Year 3 these past couple of weeks. The children started by researching all about the great Sikh spiritual leader, Guru Nanak. In particular, the children learned about his youth, when he travelled across India (in particular, the times he helped feed the poor and told stories), how he believed […]

Year 2 Assembly

November 24, 2014

The Year 2 Assembly was a smashing success on Thursday! All the children’s hard work paid off and they were brilliant! They shared all about what they have learned in Maths, English, Music and all about their Topic from last half term which was London. By the end the audience went away with “Maybe It’s Because I’m a Londoner” […]

Maths Through Art

November 24, 2014

We have been learning all about shape in Year 2! We learned about the Russian artist Kandinsky who loved to explore shape in his paintings. We discussed the curved and straight lines we saw as well as all the different shapes we could find. We traced around different shapes and arranged them in a “Kandinskyesque” way. […]

November 22, 2014

In ICT this week, Year 6 wrote postcards imagining they’d been to visit the Mayan pyramid of El Castillo in Mexico. They had to include some key facts they’d learned about the magical pyramid. Take a read of a selection included below:

Year 3 2D investigation

November 21, 2014

This week, Year 3 have been revising their knowledge of 2D shapes. Building on previous knowledge, the children split into groups and were presented with a number of different 2D shapes on their table. Their task was to sort these shapes into a Carroll diagram. As some of the children were unfamiliar with Carroll diagrams […]

Writing in role

November 21, 2014

This week the pupils have worked very hard on creating a story in role. They have been reading about a difficult child called Bradley Chalkers and had to imagine him being in their class. They wrote a story using descriptive phrases, dialogue and prepositions to enhance their writing. They will finish editing them this week […]

Year 2’s Budding Actors

November 20, 2014

In Literacy we have been reading The Princess and the White Bear King. We worked in partners to write a script for the conversation that would have happened between the Prince and his servant. We performed our dialogues to the class making sure to use loud, clear voices. It was good practise for our upcoming assembly!

This week  Year 5 visited St Paul’s cathedral and were captivated by it’s beautiful architecture and the detail of the painted ceilings. They were told the stories about the artefacts on show and the newer sculptures that are on exhibit there. They had lunch in the Crypt and were able to do some performing as Samuel […]
